ASUU Gives Update On Strike After FG Payment Of Arrears, Says Strike Continues, According to the ASUU Chairman, UNILAG branch, Dr Dele Ashi
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has maintained that its members won’t begin again work despite the Federal Government’s payment of minimum wage arrears.
This was comprised in a handout by the University of Lagos branch of the union label, ‘Payment of minimum wage arrears’.
The chairman of UNILAG ASUU, who is Dele Ashiru, proved the realism of the handout to our reporter on Saturday.
Talking to our reporters, Ashiru narrated that the arrears payment was “long-overdue”, letting out that the beginning needs of ASUU have not been met.
Recall that we had reported that the Federal Government had begun the payment of minimum wage arrears, which it owed lecturers under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics and Academic Staff Union of Universities as part of efforts to end ongoing strikes by the unions.
