BREAKING: “Allow Court Handle Matter” Say’s Buhari As He rejects Call By Ohanaeze For Nnamndi Kanu Release.
President Muhammadu Buhari has declined the plea of the southeastern leaders seeking the release of Nnamdi Kanu the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
This plea was made on Friday, May 6 during a meeting between the president and members of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other southeast leaders at the Ebonyi state house in Abakaliki.
However, Presidential Mohamed Buhari on Friday called on the South-East leaders to allow the ongoing court process, bordering on charges against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the country.

Recall that, Nnamndi Kanu was arrested in controversial circumstances in Kenya by Interpol and extradited to Nigeria where he is currently facing a treason trial. Kenyan High Commissioner Wilfred Machage (now late) stated that Kenyan authorities had not been involved in the arrest of Kanu, and challenged anyone to present evidence proving otherwise. Since June 2021, he has been arraigned at the Federal High Court, Abuja, several times, with his next trial date set for April.
Nevertheless, Nnamdi Kanu was born in Isiama Afara, Abia State, Nigeria. His father is HRM Eze Israel Okwu Kanu (JP) and his mother is Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu. He studied at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) but left fo r London to complete his tertiary education. Not much is known about Kanu. Before his arrest in March 2015, he resided in London where he founded Biafra radio.com in 2009.
